Story behind “Battle agaist Covid-19”

In March, the epidemic of Covid-19 in Portugal became more and more serious. Medical resources in the country started feeling the pressure, with limited supply from domestic market and aboard.

At that time, quite a few Chinese communities were collecting support locally and worldwide, including the one in Cascais. As part of the Chinese community in Cascais, we would like to offer what we could. As a result of the charity project “Kids Help Kids” that Sophia and I had been working on from 2014-2017, we knew that even kids can do something. So we planned this picture, Sophia spent hours to draw and color it, and then I put on social media for a non-official auction. Thanks for the support of the buyer who won the deal, and put a great meaning onto this warm-hearted event.

Even though the auction income didn’t add a big contribution to the final amount that was collected within the Chinese community of Cascais, the concept of “kids can help” would still be memorized by the people who were involved.

In April, medical supports, including ventilators, masks, protective kits, were arranged with that raised fund and then delivered to Cascais government bodies and hospitals. (Click here to find out more)

(Please feel free to leave us a message to be involved for further “Kids Can Help” events in the future.)
